About GF Innovations Ltd

GFI Vision

Our vision is that, by 2015, GFI is a recognised and profitable global brand known for its high quality, committed service and great value - providing a comprehensive range of innovative, reliable easy-to-use Networking and Audio-Visual products and accessories for the small office and connected home markets, and for the mobile consumer.

Brief Company History

GF Innovations was founded by owner and Managing Director Mr Gary Flynn in 2000 under its previous name GFI Cables. Gary is a qualified avionics engineer who entered the industry via a British European Airways apprenticeship in the 1970s, just before the company was absorbed into British Airways (BA). After leaving BA, there followed a number of roles in computer repairs at the component level, with Gary developing his skills both in the workshop and the field service environments.

In 1980 Gary Flynn started his first company, General Data Cables (GDC) which specialised in on-site installations and direct re-sale – sourcing products such as cables, connectors and switch-boxes worldwide, for re-sale in the UK. At this time Gary Flynn also started to design and manufacture bespoke computer connectors, importing the finished designs from China.

Gary sold GDC in 1988 and took a career break to travel the world before being involved in a number of start-ups; in particular PC’s and Cables in 1992. Of four divisions in PC’s and Cables Gary further developed the direct re-sale division which became GF Innovations’ forerunner, GFI Cables. Gary is ably supported by his experienced core team of Design, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customer Service and Distribution specialists, based both in the UK and China.
